Utility Bill Assistance

Atlanta Gas Light Project share Donation Program.

Many non-profits and other agencies work with Atlanta Gas Light to assist the needy. The Project Share program relies on contributions and donations from the community. Matching grants are also usually provided by the energy company as well. Funds that are raised go to help struggling customers with their utility bills. Donate to this energy assistance program as a way to give back to the community and to assist the less fortunate.

Time and time, Georgia residents show that they are willing to aid others when they are faced with a crisis. Many people that are assisted from Project Share are children, senior citizens, and those faced with an unexpected expense. This giving and humanitarian spirit can even extend to people in your community who need help with paying their utility and natural gas bills. What you do donate will be tax deductible and the funds will go to people in your general community. So the results are impact.

Project SHARE is overseen by the Georgia Salvation Army, both locally and the main statewide group. They accept applications, donations, and can advise families on their options and how to give back. To learn more, contribute, or to apply for assistance, dial 404-873-3101. People can contribute as much or as little as you like or can afford. The fact is that every dollar helps, and the money you give will not pay for administrative costs.

The SHARE program also receives grants from other non-profits, utility companies themselves and agencies, such as Atlanta Gas Light. For example, every year Atlanta Gas Light will also contribute some money. The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) also takes a leading role in the program.

Project SHARE operates year round. It can help meet the demand of Georgia households and Atlanta Gas Light customers that need help with basic necessities, such as their utilities or heating bills. As funding allows, the program assists families with children as well as the elderly, individuals who are disabled, and people that are most at risk. Aid is for people facing an unexpected financial hardship or crisis. It is often offered to customers along with weatherization and other services.

To apply, contribute, or learn more, call the number above. In the future, if and when you can, please donate and give back. As everyone may face an unexpected crisis from time to time.
