Utility Bill Assistance

PPL Operation Help utility assistance

In an effort to help the low income and struggling customers, the PPL Operation Help program may be able to assist. It allows people or business to add a small dollar amount to their monthly utility bill, and that contribution will go to help the less fortunate. The funds are only for paying residential energy bills and do not go to local businesses, however a company can donate.

Any “gift”/donation given to the program will support customers in need. The money will only go to paying utility bills and applications are closely reviewed to ensure the money goes to the most qualified as well as deserving. Assistance will go to neighbors, friends, children from low income households and seniors among others. Over 16 different agencies in Pennsylvania screen applicants to ensure the money gets to the most deserving. It can be a back-stop when an unexpected emergency comes up.

!00% of each contribution goes to helping the less fortunate. PPL will not keep any money for administrative costs. Nor will they allow any other expenses to be paid, other than utility bills. In addition, all of the contributions are used in the local area. This ensure that as much effort as possible will be made to help people in communities in the immediate region.

PPL Operation Help also aids low income families that are in a short term, difficult situation. It is a one-time service and not for long term needs. There is often help from people with health, short term employment, or medical issues. It is imperative to keep electricity on, especially when sick. This is where Operation Help can be most effective.

This assistance, no matter how much is paid, can make a major difference in the lives of a struggling family. Much of the funds even go to help homes with children or seniors, as they are often at risk if they do not have electricity. The funds can be used to pay any type of utility cost, including electricity, gas, or propane. No matter what service is used from PPL, help is available.

Donations are used to provide this utility bill assistance. Anyone that is helped should be very grateful to the program and others in the community. Even retirees contribute! This is a completely optional contribution service, so no one is entitled to get help or support from the program. Anyone that is assisted should thank the community for their generosity.

In order to apply for assistance, there there eligibility and guidelines that need to be met. Much of the utility bill assistance will only be provided and the process will often follow the federal and state of Pennsylvania government guidelines. However, there are no requirements to donate, and anyone can do that.

When applying for assistance from PPL Operation Help, bring proof of address, income, copies of old utility bills and social security number. The customer should also bring a copy of their current heating bill or lease agreement if they rent a home. The company may also require other similar documents.
