Warmth for Wake Financial Assistance - This component is raised from local donations from business, private individuals, and local utility companies. All the money raised goes to qualified low income families and individuals in Wake County North Carolina. After applying for aid, applicants will be screened by Wake County Human Services. The review is extensive, and the application process takes into consideration the total household income of the applicant as well as their total expenses and overall budget.

Free Space Heaters - New and gently used space heaters and other units can be provided by the Warmth for Wake program to low income and elderly households who may be currently lacking another heat source. The program can provide year-round heaters during regular business hours at our Swinburne office, and also during the winter at the Yard Waste Center on mornings that we are working onsite. In addition, people are encourage to donate a gently used heater, or a new unit if they want to invest in one. All donations go right to those in the community with the greatest need.

Free Wood
In addition to the financial assistance above, many families need additional assistance to make it through the winter. That is where free wood can come into play. The Warmth for Wake assistance program is able to provide qualified families with free deliveries of firewood to homes that can use it to offset their gas or electric heat consumption and therefore help people save money on their overall energy bills.
