Utility Bill Assistance

 

 

Indiana assistance with utility, heating, and electric bills.

The Indiana Universal Service Program (USP) is an assistance program which offers utility bills discounts to those in need. This will be in addition to any aid they they currently receive from LIHEAP. Monthly discounts on utility bills offered will be between 9 percent to 32 percent of the total utility bill.

Indiana Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
This heating and utility bill savings program will help both elderly and lower income customers pay their heating and utility bills.

Winter Assistance Fund - This heating bill and utility bill assistance fund will give financial assistance to families in need.

Citizens Gas - Citizens offers the Warm Heart, Warm Home Foundation financial aid program. the company will try to assist families that may be experiencing a temporary financial hardship using donations from the public. Learn more.

The Gas Winter Assistance Fund is another program from Citizens Gas. It is only for Marion County Indiana, and the heating bill assistance is available in partnership with the United Way. Read more.

 

 

 

Duke Energy - The Low-Income Weatherization Program was created to assist customers with saving energy, and provide energy saving advice. In addition, they have the Helping Hand assistance program, which will give a cash grant to disabled and senior customers. Read more Duke Energy Indiana utility bill programs.

Indiana Michigan Power - Energy Share is a utility bill assistance program in place for lower income customers that may be having trouble paying their utility bills. Donations are used to assist families in Indiana. Learn more.

Operation Round Up- The following energy companies participate in this program. Central Indiana Power, Decatur County REMC, Decatur County REMC, South Central Indiana REMC. The programs provides assistance with a variety of bills, including help with heating and utility bills, groceries, shelter, medical expenses, rent, education, and more.

 

 

 

 

 

Indianapolis Power and Light - A program can help pay winter utility or heating bills. Donations are collected by the United Way and the funds are available to customers with no other options available to them. It is available during the winter months. Read more.

Vectren - Cash grants are distributed through the Share the Warmth assistance program to Low Income Weatherization Assistance Program members. The donation program can help with utility bills, and Share the Warmth also provides energy saving Weatherization services. Read more.

Northern Indiana Public Service Company - An aid fund, called the Gift of Warmth, was created to help NIPSCO customers that do not qualify for any other utility or heating bill assistance aid.

Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (NIPSCO) - A cash grant of up to $400 is provided from the Winter Warmth Heating Bill Help, and the money can be used for the payment of natural gas and unpaid utility bills. They will also limit the fees paid for natural gas deposits and reduce some other utility bill fees. Read more.

Madison County residents only can turn to Friend to Friend for help. The Indiana based donation program provides funds for everything from heating to gas bills. Most of the aid is paid out during the winter months, in which low income families need the most utility assistance. Read more.
