Utility Bill Assistance

Provo City Power HELP program,

Customers of Provo City Power that are in a crisis situation can turn to the donation program known as HELP. This assistance program is only for customers of this company and it can both help them catch up on a portion of their arrears and keep their electricity on. It does rely on contributions from the community to keep it operating, and more information on that process is below as well.

The funds from Provo City Power HELP will only pay a portion of any bill that is due. The customer seeking assistance will also need to come up with money to pay any balance that is not covered. Also, the program is one time only and a family can't continue to apply to it year after year.

Financial aid available from it is very limited, and it is issued by local community action agencies in Utah. The program uses contributions from the general community and the money is then redistributed to low income families that are in a crisis situation. Various types of utility bills can be paid by HELP, ranging from electric to heating or gas. Any type of service provided by Provo City Power can be addressed by this program.

Applications and donation process to Provo City Power HELP

To donate, this can be done in the following ways. Contributions are always appreciated and the money will go to help struggling families with their utilities. None of what is contributed will go to paying administrative costs, so this will help encourage people to donate.

-One time contributions can be made. The customer service team at Provo City Power can provide more information on the address and process.
-Families can also decide to have their monthly utility bill “rounded up” to the next highest amount, and the balance goes to HELP for assisting struggling customers.

Money comes from other sources as well. Not only may the company itself make annual contributions, but they can also match what was donated by others. This will allow a greater number of Provo City Power customers to be assisted with their energy bills.

Last, but not least, employees as well as the companies charity trust may contribute as well. These funds will also be used to ramp up the scale of the program and will allow more people to receive help.

Since this is not a federal or state of Utah subsidy, the scope is limited. Assistance with paying utility bill is only provided to a small number of families per year. However even if HELP can't help, the customer service team at Provo City Power may still refer a customer to other resources which may be able to help them. So all hope should not be lost if HELP can't assist.

Provo City Power HELP will only help in a crisis that is unexpected, sudden, and unplanned for. The funds will help them pay some of their energy bill, which gives the customer time to find other solutions or take steps such as entering into payment plans. For more information or to apply for financial aid from HELP, call the company at (801) 852-6000.
